Our nonprofit organization offers legal assistance to consumers facing challenges such as fraud, unfair pricing, and deceptive advertising, with the support of an advocate. Engage with consumer protection organizations such as the Department of Consumer Affairs, State Consumer Commissions, and Legal Metrology Departments.

Support the implementation of legislation including the Consumer Protection Act of 2019, the Legal Metrology Act of 2009, and other pertinent regulations.

5. Capacity Development for Regulatory Bodies 


Educate local authorities, law enforcement, and regulatory officials on the enforcement of consumer protection laws.

  5. Reporting Fraud – Complaining about unethical business practices.

  • Understanding the Issue:

    • Gather all relevant details (invoices, contracts, emails, messages).

    • Identify the exact problem (defective product, misleading advertisement, overcharging, etc.).

  • Communicating with the Business:

    • Contact customer service and explain the issue politely.

    • Request a resolution (refund, replacement, compensation).

    • Keep a written record of all communications.

  • Sending a Formal Legal Notice:

    • If the issue is not resolved, draft a legal notice with the help of a lawyer.

    • Send the notice via registered post or email and give a deadline for response.

  • Mediation & Consumer Forums:

    • Approach a consumer mediation center to settle the dispute amicably.

    • File a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) or the Consumer Commission (District, State, or National level) under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

  • Legal Action (If Needed):

    • If mediation fails, file a formal case in the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (District/State/National).

    • Provide all evidence, and your advocate will represent the case.
